about

"Let The Music Take Your Mind" is the sophomore album since his debut with Universal Thing 15 years ago. After welcoming Ryo Kawahara as an additional member in 2018, he has been releasing analog singles and remixes proactively. This new album boasts a total of 12 songs with original instrumental and vocal tracks with collaborations with both Japanese and international artists such as LUVRAW, Courtney John, Jasmine Kara, SA Martinez, and Johnny B. The lead track from the album “Not Over You,” a collaboration with Ryu Tsuruoka a.k.a. LUVRAW, is Slowly’s first song with Japanese lyrics. Songs that have already become popular in the vinyl world are also included: “The Right Way” has been on heavy rotation by top DJs in Japan and overseas such as Gilles Peterson and MURO, becoming the only song from Japan chosen on the French reggae site United Reggae as The 60 Best Songs of 2018. Other recordings include the timeless classic hits - “I Like It” by DeBarge, and C. Mayfield’s “Tripping Out.” With a long production period, the album, in 2021, is now ready to be served. It is available on CD with 4 bonus tracks - a total of 16 songs with original artwork by popular illustrator Nigamushi Tsuyoshi.
